Kingdom Hearts is the newest game from square. It mixes Final Fantasy characters in with disney. Surprisingly, this game kicks a$$.
Plot: 8/10
Ok, so this is the story. The game is pretty much based around this kid named Sora (said like sore-a). He live on this group of islands called the Destiny Islands. What he doesn't know, this is the only part of his world. He wants to travel to other worlds, so he, his friend Riku (said like Rikku from FFX), and his other friend Kairi (said like Ki-ry), make a raft. The day before they're about to go, a storm starts. When Sora goes to check on his raft, he encounters monsters. He tries to fight them off, but their too much. He find Riku standing on a dock, Riku says some cool things, and they both get covered in shadows. While Riku goes to another world, Sora recieves a giant key called the Keyblade, and uses it to fight the monsters off. Then when He finds Kairi, she gets sent to another world too, and Sora is left to fight a monster. After he defeats it, he also gets sucked into another world.
While all this is going on, the game goes back and forth to Disney Castle where the "king" has dissapeared (you can pretty much guess who the king is). Queen Minney sends theblack mage Donald, and Knight Goofy, and the little journal writter Jimminy Cricket to find the king. So, they get into a little "Gummy ship" and travel to the next world looking for the king. When Sora wakes up, Riku and Kairi are no where in site, so he goes looking for them, he meets Cid (from FFVII), Lean (real name is Squall, FFVIII), Yuffie (FFVIII), and Aerith (FFVII). They tell him about the monsters called "Heartless", and the Keyblade. Then some monsters bust in, and Leon and Sora fight them off for a while. The while on his own, Sora bumps into Donald and Goofy. They fight a Heartless monster and decide to join up to look for the king and Sora's friends. They travel to other worlds looking for them, defeating Heartless and locking keyholes. In each world there is a keyhole, that if they seal, the Heartless can't attack (even though it never works and the Heartless don't stop coming). In each world they meet disney characters (Tarzan, Aladin, Jack Skelington for example) and in some worlds they fight with you. If you want to know more, go and rent this game.
Graphics: 7/10
Pretty good graphics. They really capture th feeling of the characters some time. And Donald and Goofy are even funnier as 3D figures. Trust me.
Sound: 9/10
Simple and Clean says it all. The voices are clear, they got an all star cast:
Haley Joel Osment (Six Sense) is Sora,
David Gallagher is Riku,
Steeve Burton as Cloud
Mandy Moore is Aerith,
Christy Carlson Romano (Even Stevens, Kim Possible) is Yuffie,
and for you N'sync fangirls, Lance Bass is "him" (and he does a good job voicing him),
And finaly, all the disney characters sound almost like they came right out of the TV.
Battlling: 10/10
Great battle system. It's almost like they took the 64 Zelda style of fighting and stuck it in this game, only you can use magic, you have party members to look out for, and you different special techniques. And most of the fights are hard. Lets just say, I was surprised the first time I faced "him". It was a great fight indeed, but unfortuanatly it lasted only 5 seconds (if you don't know who it is, then play th game and you'll know).
Overall: 3.4/4
It's a really good game, and if you have PS2, then I recomend getting it. I mean, I REALLY recomend it. Wow, this was a long review. Later.
